Yesterday we had Eight of Wands.  Today we have Eight of Swords, so let's start with a look at the symbolism of eight.  The eights are all about understanding boundaries and preserving your personal outlook as it brushes against someone else's different outlook.  Eight in the tarot delivers the message to access and protect your uniquely particular perspective.

We have someone who is embarking on a new beginning, yet their hands are tied.  This person knows what they want, but they are confused about how to get it.  They are afraid to move (or to make a move).  They must remember that this new beginning is a positive change, and they must maintain their energetic efforts to free themselves from a situation that has been holding back their work life.  Right now they're feeling afraid, but they must not let this fear stop them.
