Someone is in the midst of a total transformation.  They are changing their mind, so that they will soon adopt a radical standpoint.  They're letting go of their past, because now they understand how their past has not been good for them.  An old way of thinking and seeing life is dying or is already permanently dead. While there may be resistance to such mighty metamorphosis, they are on the verge of accepting inevitable change.
