Today's querent is a mom who is inflicting pain and heartbreak (Three of Swords).  Perhaps this mama bird released dependent chicks too quickly from a family nest, and the mom may've eagerly done that in order to nurture another nest of young and different chicks (the Empress).  This is a mom who enjoys power over life, but she's too hungry for power.  In her desire to always be "the Mother," this woman has become oblivious to other people's feelings.
